July 24–July 31, 2024

Each summer, Gallery 263 offers our 700-square-foot space to artists of all media and experience levels. We strive to give the local Boston and Cambridge community a stake in the process, not just the product, of art making. From mural painting to textile arts, mold making to photography, and installation to community projects—our artist residencies have drawn passionate artists of all media.

The selected artist will enjoy a comfortable environment in which to incubate ideas, fuel discussion, and produce new work. The residency is a non-live-in opportunity that comes with a $250 stipend. The selected artist will benefit from full access to our space and amenities; participate in critiques or community outreach projects; and conclude their stay with a showcase of their work. The showcase is an opportunity to present finished and unfinished work to the community, with an installation of artwork in the gallery.

The artist-in-residence will share updates about their artwork and process on the Gallery 263 social media channels and will collaborate with Gallery 263 staff on various approaches to programming and social engagement during the residency time.
