Artist statement

Over the last year, my creative practice has transformed into something infinitely more intimate; a series of paintings that fit within the palm of a hand. This shift was born from a desire to connect with my creative discipline in a more consistent and meaningful way. My work, which once took shape as large-scale, long-term projects, has gradually evolved into a steady rhythm of daily paintings. Their small scale rejects monumentality, drawing the viewer into a private encounter with the work, much in the same way one holds on to the fragmented nature of memory.

These pieces are created in my studio religiously day after day, a quiet meditation on the stoic nature of time. They are born from fleeting encounters with beauty; the sun setting over the bay, the horizon igniting with color, the familiarity of a place visited again and again, the quiet shimmer of the city at night. What began as an exercise, a daily task, has blossomed into a ritual; a way of honoring time as it unfolds. Each painting serves as a tactile memory; an artifact  of a lived experience. Together, they create a deeply personal archive; carrying the quiet weight of presence and relentless passage of time.
