Gallery 263 and the Porter Square Shopping Center are excited to invite local artists to submit to an open call for proposals. We welcome creative, vibrant and unique designs for a new Little Free Library, to be installed this fall at the Porter Square Shopping Center.
The proposed library can take any form, scale and style, so long as it is functional, cohesive with the surrounding area, and can withstand outdoor conditions through all seasons. The selected artist will receive a stipend of $2,000 to cover materials, fabrication and labor.
This call is free to enter and open to artists at any stage in their career that live within a 20 mile radius of Cambridge, MA. Please see below for the site location, full application details, and important deadlines. Contact [email protected] with any clarifying questions.

Please provide a mockup of your proposed library including materials, dimensions, and a plan for weatherproofing
Component #2: Work Examples
Please provide 3 examples of previous work with materials, dimensions, and year completed submitted. These can be previous public art projects, sculptural pieces, or examples of the intended style of the proposed Library
Component #3: CV
Please include your most updated artist CV.
