As an artist, finding external opportunities for your work is essential and applications can be difficult and opaque. In this workshop, we will cover everything from residencies to open calls to grant proposals: how to find them, apply to them, and best practices to ensure your application is successful. Facilitator Timothy Hyunsoo Lee will share his insights on the process as a successful practicing artist, teacher, and juror.

About Timothy
Timothy Hyunsoo Lee is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice explores the relationship between rituals of (in)visibility, community and the abstracted, queer body. Born in Seoul, South Korea and raised in New York City, he received his B.A. in Neuroscience, Biology and Studio Art from Wesleyan University and his MFA in computational arts from Goldsmiths, University of London. He has participated in exhibitions at the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery, the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, the Orlando Museum of Art, the Studio Museum, The Wallach Art Gallery of Columbia University and the YoungArts Foundation Gallery, and his works are included in public and private collections around the world. He is currently represented by Sabrina Amrani Gallery (Madrid, Spain) and teaches at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts (SMFA) at Tufts and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) W20 Art Studios.
