DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to participate in Cambridge Arts Open Studios\, a city-wide event that celebrates the creativity that is Cambridge\, on Saturday\, September 9\, and Sunday\, September 10\, 12–6 pm. Shop for paintings\, prints\, clothing\, ceramics\, and all sorts of locally-made creations by more than 70 artists when you visit their studios and in group exhibitions in venues throughout the city. DESCRIPTION:Doors at 7:30 pm; Screening at 8 pm \n\n\n\nJoin us on Saturday\, August 26\, for an exclusive film screening with 2023 artist-in-residence Lilan Yang. Nowhere Near\, a solo showcase by Yang\, is on view at the gallery through August 28. This event is a rare opportunity to view many of Yang’s unedited\, shot-on-camera short films in the evocative Kodak Black & White Reversal. Yang’s MFA thesis film\, Everything Comes Full Circle\, will also be featured with a new score by London-based composer Julian Tran. This event is free and open to all. \n\n\n\nAbout the Artist in Residence\n\n\n\nLilan Yang is a New England-based artist and experimental filmmaker from Chongqing\, China. Her practice explores the myth of cities and landscapes\, ways of seeing and unseeing\, and sentiments of remembering and forgetting\, through lens-based analog media such as 16mm filmmaking and 35mm photography\, as well as digital technologies such as machine learning and data visualization. She received a BS in Computer Engineering from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an MFA in Digital + Media from Rhode Island School of Design.
