SUMMARY:Public Programming Proposal Series: Bold Forbes & Cricket Blue Music
DESCRIPTION:Visit us on Friday\, February 16\, for a Gallery 263 Public Programming Proposal Series event: an evening of music with Bold Forbes and Cricket Blue. $10 at the door. \n\n\n\n\n\nBold Forbes\n\n\n\n\n\nBold Forbes is an acoustic trio based in New York City & Cambridge\, MA\, made up of Nick Bloom\, Reid Jenkins\, and David Halpern. Their songs blend the structures of folk and country songwriting with imagistic lyrics and genre-busting arrangements for strings and voice. Their music has been favorably reviewed in the New York Times and elsewhere\, and their first feature album\, High Time\, is available on all streaming platforms. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCricket Blue\n\n\n\n\n\nCricket Blue is a Vermont-based folk duo comprising Laura Heaberlin and Taylor Smith. Their unique sound lies “somewhere between tingly and prickly\,” which they build from intricate\, layered guitars and dreamy harmonies which sources consistently describe as “haunting.” They released their first album\, Serotinatlia\, to widespread critical acclaim in 2019.

SUMMARY:Re/Un Making Reception
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Sunday\, February 11\, for a reception for Re/Un Making\, a special pop-up exhibition featuring artists whose practices are in flux\, unresolved\, and actively renegotiated in the face of significant life changes. The pieces on display are notably unfinished or skirt the boundaries of “art\,” reflecting artistic processes that struggle to take shape but nevertheless strive to exist. Much like the pieces themselves\, the ephemeral pop-up form of this show also embodies a distinct precariousness. This space honors the imperfect\, the incomplete\, and the occasionally ugly\, yet always valuable outcomes of fluctuating creative processes. We make because we must. Free and open to the public.
